The Beatles played their second show in Hamburg at the Top Ten Club, today's Moondoo. The Top Ten was the first really good live club in Hamburg, with a good size stage, good sound system and the beloved "reverb on the microphones". The shows were certainly the toughest: Here the Beatles played 92 consecutive nights, all long nights with only 15-minute breaks, totaling over 500 hours of live music in just three months between early April and late June 1961; but also, the most exciting time in Hamburg for the Beatles. "The Top Ten was the best," they said later about the club that they also lived above - together with Hamburg's big star Tony Sheridan and his girlfriend Rosi. As they performed almost every night with the famous Tony, Polydor became aware of them, and they got their first record deal. Accordingly, their first single, "My Bonnie", was released in October 1961 under the pseudonym Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers, produced by Bert Kaempfert. This is a very special Beatles place for you so that you can twist, shout, and celebrate like in 1961.
