“Uwe” is the most recent highlight of the Reeperbahn club scene. The location itself at the “Klubhaus St. Pauli” is not entirely new – the building has been around for five years. But on the first floor on the left, on the premises of the former “Kukuun”, “Uwe” recently opened its doors, a new club operated by well-known NDR television presenter Yared Dibaba. “The First International Vinyl Club”, presented by Hamburg-based photographer Bernd Jonkmanns, is one of the highlights at “Uwe”, but by no means the only one. There are regular intimate concerts, disco nights, readings and theatre performances, well-known artists act as DJs, and Dibaba himself is a regular here with his very own comedy show. The “Catch The Rabbit Festival” with aspiring local indie bands is also held at “Uwe”. With its diverse programme, the small club is an absolute asset to the Hamburg scene.
